Food Review: MILK!

05 Nov

Yesterday .. After i went to cinema to watch Tintin .. i released that i haven’t eaten anything since morning!! .. that was around 5PM!!

I was already in 360 Mall but i wanted to eat something other than the restaurants there .. Fat Burger was a choice .. but then i remembered MILK which i saw next to Pink Moon in front of Al Seef Palace and also read about in Ansam blog!! .. so .. i head to it!

When i reached there .. i found it almost empty looking at the time i’m there .. its not a lunch time neither a dinner time!!

So here is what their menu:

As you can see .. the menu is actually small .. i always have a doubt with restaurants offering small menus!! .. i mean are you that confident that what you are offering is the best and will make people come again and again for the same dishes!! .. i mean if three people went there in one visit they could try the whole menu and then .. we are done .. let us go .. try something new elsewhere !!

But anyways .. i’ve seen such restaurants before and they actually end up pretty good πŸ˜‰

The seating area inside the MILK looks neat and nice .. with a lot of lighting .. but i preferred setting outside since the weather was good πŸ™‚

I was already so hungry .. so no time for thinking a lot .. and the small menu also helps me decide faster .. the decision was made … Trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr … Steak Sandwich please!

I ordered a MILK’s steak sandwich which is a grilled steak (really?!!) served with carmelized onions and balsamic mayo on toasted focaccia!

I ordered it without onion .. and yet .. i got it with onion!

You can see on the backside of the dish to the right there is a yellowish thing with a redish one! .. it turns out to be sweet potato (Yummy!) and dried beetroot!! (also Yummy!).

The steak sandwich was great .. really .. i loved it .. i even loved that they didn’t follow my request and they didn’t remove the onion!! .. it was just right .. i enjoyed every bite .. Recommended πŸ™‚

After that .. i’ve been in some kind of diet lately and since today is Arafa and i’m fastening .. i decided let it be Kharebhaa day!! .. so .. my next move .. will be deserts of course πŸ™‚

For deserts .. my order was the following:

– Crepe Suzzete w/ Ricotta & Orage Glaze (strange!!)

You know how the crepes taste right?! .. well .. it is no exception .. except for the orange glaze that have a strong orange taste .. nice one but not that sweet .. it like you are having an orange after a meal πŸ™‚

i also ordered:

– Ricotta Cheese Cake – Nutella

– Hot Chocolate (White Chocolate Lime Zest)

You see the hot chocolate is actually the chocolate on the spoon and you have to melt it inside the cup of milk .. i was going to order the White Chocolate Saffron but it was already finished!

The hot chocolate was nice .. it wasn’t having a strong taste of lime .. it felt like a melted white chocolate (Really?!!)

As for the cheese cake .. it was fresh .. full of ricotta but the toping was little .. if you are a Nutella fan .. you have to tell them i need extra topping .. because the cheese cake felt like i’m ordering a plain cheese cake!!

Then .. The little punishers arrive .. or as one of my colleagues at work used to say “hathela el bites qaleelen el adab” .. ladies and gentlemen .. welcome here .. today .. we are introducing to you .. a tryout about MILK .. after saying all that .. you remember how steve jobs was having this “One More Thing ..” in his presentations!!

Well .. this one felt like it .. what used to come after “One More Thing ..” was the star of the show .. and those little freaking creatures were the stars!!

They are really small and tiny .. each one of those creatures has its own personality .. i mean each one tastes different .. and lord help me how good they taste .. you should .. i mean must .. try those .. they are called An Assortment Of Fudge Bites .. so .. if you like fudge .. those are to die for πŸ™‚

As soon as i was done indulging myself with these little fellas .. They offered me chocolate fingers to tryout!!

They are chocolate fingers covered with cacao powder .. they taste great if you would try them with coffee or espresso πŸ™‚

All in all .. i liked the experience and i’m sure i’ll go back there soon .. maybe even as soon as today for my Futoor to try a different sandwich :p
